Galilee Lodge 31, Nazareth

Masonic Brotherly Love, Fraternity and Tolerance Practical Example in the Holy Land :
Galilee Lodge 31, Nazareth.

The Galilee is a very important and symbolic region in Northern Israel for jews and Christians. Nazareth, its capital city, and many other parts of the region were sites where Jesus used to be and live.

Galilee Lodge 31 was originally Consecrated in 1950 and became dormant in 1955.

After almost 50 years that the Lodge was silent, a group of 16 Brethren supported by many Brethren, Jews and Arabs, from all over Israel, requested and received the authorisation of the Grand Lodge of the State of Israel to reopen Galilee Lodge 31 becoming the fourth Arab speaking Lodge in Israel.

The event took place on February 22, 2003 in Nazareth with the participation of 200 Brethren headed by the Grand Master MWB Hayim Henry Ghel, Past Grand Masters and Grand Lodge Dignitaries and many delegations of sister Lodges.

This important Masonic Event began with the Opening of the special meeting of the Grand Lodge of the State of Israel with the purpose, first, to Consecrate the Temple, followed than by the Declaration of the Reopening of the Galilee Lodge 31 and its Opening by the Grand Master who, immediately after, transferred the Gavel to the Installing Master.

As Worshipful Master of the Lodge was Installed VWB Samir Faran, who had the initiative to reopen this new Lodge. Bro. Faran, some years ago was honoured by Argentinean Masons, together with my Mother Lodge's member RWB Juan Goldwaser, with the Masonic Peace Prize for their fraternal activities in the relations between Arabic and Jewish masons.

After the emotive ceremonies, an excellent very well served White Table, with the typical good Arabic food, was offered.

Brotherly Love was intense and it was felt on the air...and in the good and well served dishes...

Any Brother wishing to become a Supporting Member of the Lodge is welcome to fill in the Application Form. You get a nice Diploma issued by the Grand Lodge of the State of Israel and the beautiful and significant Jewel of the Lodge. Minimum US $100.-

We can be proud in the Holy Land with events like this one and let us hope that the GAOTU finally will bring the so wanted, needed and expected Peace.
